BBC Learning is at the heart of the BBC’s mission to inform, educate and entertain and aims to “inspire a life full of learning for everyone” by exploiting the educative potential that exists across the full range of the BBC’s output and activities from News to Music, Science to the Arts, Sport to Drama.
BBC Learning creates content for broadcast, online and face-to-face events for audiences ranging from children and teachers to adults and parents. Key resources include Bitesize, the revision site for six to sixteen year olds, Class Clips, an online library of audio-visual material and a range of Primary sites for teachers. BBC Learning also supports people in acquiring essential life skills through sites such as Skillswise, Webwise and BBC Languages alongside media literacy projects such as First Click and Give an Hour.
In 2012 BBC Learning is also involved in a variety of broadcast projects such as Stargazing LIVE with Professor Brian Cox, Bang Goes the Theory, the popular BBC One science magazine show and The Great British Story, a new landmark history series presented by Michael Wood.
